Rewoven

art · 2016

The one fully physical thread of the 2016 work, and the most material, recycled t-shirts sorted into a tight palette of reds, blues, and burgundy, cut into strips, and woven back into color-block panels and a draped wrap. Where the V-Pleat Skirt and Generative Poncho build cloth in software, this rebuilds it by hand from worn clothing, the same interest in pattern and pleat carried into thread.

It was never finished. A studio relocation scattered the work mid-stream, and some of the materials were destroyed in the move.

Behind the scenes: cutting the strips down from the sorted t-shirts, then laying the color-block panels out across the studio table.
