dnvsfn is short for design versus function, an ongoing argument between how a thing looks and what it is for. The work here lives in that gap: generative art, 3d, and visual artifacts made by chasing an aesthetic further than purpose strictly requires, and seeing what the excess turns into.

In practice, most pieces start as a technical problem and drift into an aesthetic one, or the other way around. Shaders that outgrow their purpose, renders that exist only because the light looked right, tools built for one job and kept for how they feel to use. However it starts, it keeps resolving into the same look: organic, deeply colored, with something quietly glowing in it.
